If you want to get a fireplace installed this year, you need to call your HVAC company as soon as possible. I have been working as a fireplace technician for about ten years now and this is the busiest time of the year for me. I am constantly getting calls from people who want to find out about getting a gas fireplace or a wood burning fireplace installed in their homes. Around this time of year, my calls seem to get busier and busier. It\u2019s one of those things that I always expect to happen, but every year I\u2019m still blown away by how much work I have to do around this time of the year. I think that if you\u2019re thinking about getting a gas fireplace or a wood burning fireplace, you might already be too late if you\u2019re trying to get it installed this year. A lot of people seem to think that they don\u2019t have to wait in line like everyone else does, but that\u2019s not the case. I have a waiting list a mile long, and it seems like everyone else who is calling and asking about fireplaces seems to want me to move them up to the top of the waiting list. I can\u2019t do that, though, and so it\u2019s hard to try and keep up with everything that is going on. I know that people really want to have fireplaces installed before Christmas, but sometimes that\u2019s just not possible.
