Cat door does let in a lot of air

I will admit that I have my condo set up for my cat.

I never planned on owning a cat, he just chose me, all of a abrupt a dog started coming around to get petted.

Then he started begging for food and bursting into my property the moment I opened the door. I just then adopted him, put a collar on me and provided him regular food. He is my boy now and lives with me. Most of the time he prefers to be outdoors. I had a door fashioned in a window. He can jump in and out when he wants to. It saves me getting up in the middle of the night. Also I can leave food out in the property and it is protected. He can access it whenever he wants. I will say the dog door isn’t the most energy efficient addition to my home. I worked unquestionably difficult to make it airtight. I built a wood frame with plexiglass around it. The door has a wood hinge and can swing in and out. My dog gently paws at it and can come in. He has little dog stairs outside for the condo so he doesn’t have to take a running leap! Periodically the door gets pushed a particular way and the outdoor air leaks into my home. My heating or A/C system then starts pumping air. The dining room regularly feels to be the wrong temperature. That is due to the dog door. Air leaks in and affects the whole condo temperature. I know I would spend money significantly less in weekly bills if I sealed it up and set the Heating and Air Conditioning properly. I just can’t do that to my cat.
