Cat door does let in a lot of air

I will admit that I have my dwelling set up for my cat. I never planned on owning a cat, he just chose me, all of a sudden a pet started coming around to get petted. Then he started begging for food plus bursting into my dwelling the moment I opened the door. I just then adopted him, put a collar on me plus provided him regular food. He is my boy now plus lives with me. Most of the time he prefers to be outdoors. I had a door fashioned in a window. He can jump in plus out when he wants to. It saves me getting up in the middle of the night. Also I can leave food out in the dwelling plus it is protected. He can access it whenever he wants. I will say the pet door isn’t the most energy efficient addition to my home. I worked undoubtedly hard to make it airtight. I built a wood frame with plexiglass around it. The door has a wood hinge plus can swing in plus out. My pet gently paws at it plus can come in. He has little pet stairs outside for the dwelling so he doesn’t have to take a running leap. Occasionally the door gets pushed a certain way plus the outdoor air leaks into my home. My heating or AC system then starts pumping air. The study room constantly feels to be the wrong temperature. That is due to the pet door. Air leaks in plus affects the whole dwelling temperature. I know I would pay significantly less in energy costs if I sealed it up plus set the Heating in addition to Air Conditioning properly. I just can’t do that to my cat.
