Northern weather plus heating

I am going to visit my parents up north in a week, however i am only staying a few days… Visiting the north in the fall is quite pretty… The leaves change, the grapes are in full bloom plus the weather isn’t extremely chilly yet. The concern is that it is much colder than I am used to as a southerner… My parents are getting temperatures in the 50s just about everyday. The temperature lingers all day long plus creates some chilly days as well. It is scarce to get a night in the 50s in my area. My partner plus I still rely on AC throughout the day. I still wear a tank top plus shorts outside. I know my mother bundles up in a robe in the morning plus then wears a sweatshirt plus pants all day, but since my parents are northerners, they are hardcore about the cold. My parents never seem to turn on the heater. I get their point, once the heating system goes on, they are really using it until around may. They want to prolong it as much as they can. They don’t want to have 8 months of needing the heater. They undoubtedly do need it though. I am prepared for a entirely chilly trip at my parents house. I have packed pants plus a sweatshirt that I plan to wear the whole time. I assume it is highly unlikely the gas fireplace will be fired up in my honor too. My parents will just hand me blankets plus more layers if I am cold.
