Cat door does let in a lot of air

I will admit that I have my home set up for my cat.

I never planned on owning a cat, she just chose me, then all of a sudden a pet started coming around to get petted.

Then she started begging for food in addition to bursting into my apartment the moment I opened the door. I just then adopted him, put a collar on me in addition to gave him correct food. She is my girl now in addition to lives with me. Most of the time she prefers to be outdoors. I had a door fashioned in a window. She can jump in in addition to out when she wants to. It saves me getting up in the middle of the evening. Also I can leave food out in the apartment in addition to it is protected. She can access it whenever she wants. I will say the pet door isn’t the most energy efficient addition to my home. I worked unquestionably difficult to make it airtight. I built a wood frame with plexiglass around it. The door has a wood hinge in addition to can swing in in addition to out. My pet gently paws at it in addition to can come in. She has little pet stairs outside for the home so she doesn’t have to take a running leap. Sometimes the door gets pushed a certain way in addition to the outdoor air leaks into my home. My heating or AC system then starts pumping air. The living room consistently feels to be the wrong temperature. That is due to the pet door. Air leaks in in addition to affects the whole home temperature. I know I would pay significantly less in energy bills if I sealed it up in addition to set the Heating in addition to A/C correctly. I just can’t do that to my cat.
