That is due to the cat door
I will admit that I have my home set up for my cat. I never planned on owning a cat, he just chose me. All of a sudden a cat started coming around to get petted. Then he started begging for food and bursting into my house the moment I opened the door. I just then adopted him, put a collar on me and gave him regular food. He is my boy now and lives with me. Most of the time he prefers to be outdoors. I had a door fashioned in a window. He can jump in and out when he wants to. It saves me getting up in the middle of the night. Also I can leave food out in the house and it is protected. He can access it whenever he wants. I will say the cat door isn’t the most energy efficient addition to my home. I worked really hard to make it airtight. I built a wood frame with plexiglass around it. The door has a wood hinge and can swing in and out. My cat gently paws at it and can come in. He has little cat stairs outside for the home so he doesn’t have to take a running leap. Sometimes the door gets pushed a certain way and the outdoor air leaks into my home. My heating or AC system then starts pumping air. The living room always feels to be the wrong temperature. That is due to the cat door. Air leaks in and affects the whole home temperature. I know I would pay significantly less in energy bills if I sealed it up and set the HVAC properly. I just can’t do that to my cat.
