  • A/C units are great for cooling, but they don’t offer any heating capabilities.

If you live in a temperature that gets frosty in the winter, you shall need to either purchase a separate heating unit or choose a heat pump, which can both heat plus cool your home. Once you’ve decided on the type of system you want, you shall need to find an Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C tech to install it, however many A/C companies will also install heat pumps plus other types of Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C systems. Once your system is installed, you can also add a smart thermostat to help regulate the temperature in your home. I’ve had homes without any temperature control plus if you live in a serious temperature it can be a harrowing experience. It is suggested to have some kind of heating in homes in the far north because not having heat can be life threatening. During the Summer the same can be said with homes in the far south without air conditioner, but usually this isn’t life threatening unless the people are older or weak somehow. Cold weather can do much more harm to the body than warmer weather as our bodies are pretty great at removing heat, especially with the use of a fan. However, when the weather gets absolutely frosty the body can shut down plus eventually stop functioning as in the case of hypothermia.
