People are dying in heat waves hitting the entire globe

I remember when there were record breaking low temperatures during the winter season while I was growing up.

There were always years with hot summer weather, but it was the blizzards and the barrage of snowfall in January and February that I remember the most.

One winter was so cold that we had a snowfall one evening of six feet in total. When we woke up the next morning, we could see snow up the windows around the first floor of the house and barely managed to dig ourselves out altogether. While my siblings and I thought it was hilarious at the time, I remember seeing a look of panic on my father’s face at first before he managed to handle the situation. It’s not inconceivable to imagine this happening again during a random year, but the trends are looking a little warmer nowadays. In fact, in the time since, a lot has changed with the climate and the weather in my area. We used to strictly worry about the cold temperatures in the winter and merely got by in the summer by opening a lot of windows and using a lot of fans. But these days the heat waves during the summer are getting up above 100 degrees in a lot of areas. In fact, my town was hit with a 110 degree historic high last week when I had planned on going for a short weekend camping trip in our state park. That was scrapped when I received the heat advisory warning on my cell phone. Instead, I stayed at home and turned on the air conditioner until I could feel a nice cold breeze throughout the entire house.
