They have a shortage of heating and cooling professionals

So, we told the representative that we were flexible, and we were willing to give up our spot for someone who needed it more.

We kept hearing and reading that there is a shortage of Heating, Ventilation and A/C professionals, but it never impacted us until recently. This has been something that has been circulating for many months now, but we have never had an issue with getting service. So, we believed it was only impacting larger markets. Well, we were wrong about that because we live in a smaller town. Two months ago, we needed our Heating, Ventilation & A/C unit serviced, so we phoned our Heating, Ventilation and A/C provider. Often, when we call for service, they have a HVAC professional out the next morning and sporadically even the same day. Well, this time around, we were told that it would take 72 hours before an Heating, Ventilation and A/C tech could service our unit. After hearing that, we asked the representative from the Heating, Ventilation and A/C company about the long wait time. The rep then explained that they have a shortage of HVAC professionals, and they are trying to keep up with the demand. He explained that the professionals were working overtime because of all the repair calls. And since our repair was not an emergency, we would have the longest delay. Fortunately, our cooling system was still working, and this was just a common service for us. So, we told the representative that we were flexible, and we were willing to give up our spot for someone who needed it more. It’s the least we could do to help the situation of the Heating, Ventilation and A/C serviceman shortage. Not many people think about it, but the Heating, Ventilation and A/C professionals are partly responsible for keeping our homes comfortable all year round. And we hope that our Heating, Ventilation and A/C service provider can figure out something soon to help with the shortage of HVAC professionals.
