There is a famous idiom that goes, “if it’s not faulty, don’t fix it.” It basically means to leave things alone.
Jess has lived by this throughout her life, and it has saved her so much money over the years.
When it comes to money, you can call her cheap, and Jess won’t be offended. In fact, she would rather not spend her money on frivolous things. For instance, she has had the same smartphone for 6 years now and Jess has gotten ridiculed for having an iPhone that is so old, but guess what? Her iPhone works perfectly and does exactly what she needs it to do. Jess can receive and make calls, she can receive and send messages, and she can also watch videos with no concerns. So, in her head, why would she spend her money on a new iPhone if she didn’t need to. If her iPhone was having issues, then Jess would upgrade it. She uses that policy with the appliances and devices in her home. For instance, when her Heating, Ventilation and A/C professional suggested that she upgrade her Heating, Ventilation & A/C device because it was past the expiration date, Jess opted to get a second opinion. At the time, there was nothing wrong with my 17-year-old Heating, Ventilation and A/C unit. There were no malfunctions or breakdowns, no electrical concerns, no loss in efficiency, and there were no spikes in her energy consumption. Aside from the age of the unit, there was honestly nothing wrong with it. And the second opinion from another licensed Heating, Ventilation and A/C professional confirmed this for her. So, until her Heating, Ventilation and A/C system shows signs of decline, Jess will not upgrade it because it is still functioning as efficiently as can be.
