My friend’s coughing episode pushed me to call the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C team


The audit season had arrived, and I had virtually no time for anything other than work.As department manager, my company relied on me to ensure that all auditors submitted their reports on time and that we did not fall behind schedule.

These situations are stressful for me because I rarely have time to myself.

Fortunately, I have always had people living in my home, so I am able to focus on my work without distraction. This year, however, was different. My children had left for a lengthy vacation at my brother’s residence and would not return until three months later. My husband was on a mission and would not return for one year. This meant that I was on my own and that things could become overwhelming; unfortunately, I neglected to manage anything other than my work. A friend’s visit was required for me to realize that the air quality in my home was deplorable. She coughed throughout her stay and requested that I contact a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) specialist. This is when I realized I had missed the correct Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning maintenance schedule. The Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning company had called to report that no one was present when their technician arrived. I had promised to call them back but neglected to do so. I hurriedly inspected the AC filters, which were disgustingly clogged. Despite the fact that I had replaced the filters, I dreaded the energy bill I would receive that month because it was evident that my air conditioning component had been overworked. I immediately contacted the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning company to schedule routine maintenance. I took the following afternoon off to ensure that this was completed. They repaired and cleaned a few things that would have gotten worse had I waited longer.
