What was supposed to be a 30-minute bike ride turned into three hours of beach time with my family. They aren’t literally my family, but because I live so far away from my apartment, they are the only family I have. I was mostly hanging out on the beach, watching the two-on-two volleyball games and chatting with my friends, because I didn’t have the energy to participate in the intense athletic hobby. Most of these men are also old players, and the games are no joke, so not having a lot of energy will not work. Cooling down in the flat is now necessary as I return to my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C tech writing task for the next hour. After that, I’ll do my yoga and then my bandmate and I will go play somewhere outside for a while. My associate and I will play at this local business on the sea, or if it is full, on the pier next to this temperature-controlled beach bar. My associate and I will bring the sound system and use it, but we can’t have the volume that high or the cops will stop us for the 200th time.
