It’s amusing how little business is actually conducted in person these days. It was fairly obvious that the trend was being driven by technological advancements. Having automated systems rather than actual people working for the customer was much less expensive. However, I miss it. Sometimes I’ll spend hours in my home office’s central air conditioning attempting to get assistance. However, there isn’t much else available besides emailing some nameless, voiceless customer service department. The best-case scenario is that I might be able to engage in a live online chat with a customer service representative. However, even that is extremely uncommon and frustrating. I am therefore enjoying myself greatly because of people like my HVAC professionals rather than freaking out and being angry about this trend. When we moved here to start new jobs and eventually a family, we ran into these people about 30 years ago. When we first moved in, the deteriorating heat pump was replaced by the neighborhood HVAC business that we use. And just a year ago, the same HVAC experts replaced that heat pump with the most modern residential HVAC. The HVAC business has always picked up the phone during this entire period. These HVAC specialists were always willing to assist us in any way they could. Every autumn, they were there for heating up. And back again in the spring to perform the maintenance on the air conditioner. Up until the last heat pump was almost finished, we never had a problem. Even at that point, the HVAC company came right away to assist us with the HVAC repair. The same HVAC experts were more than happy to visit our house and assist us in selecting the incredible HVAC system we now have. They are always willing to assist.
