This year’s summer is something I’m actually looking forward to. I don’t typically feel like that. Normally, as March approaches, I’m sad that the lovely winter weather is coming to an end. Since the winters here are so pleasantly mild, the heat pump doesn’t need to work as hard, which is great for me. But because of the heat and humidity, spring also heralds the dread of summer. Even if you have excellent residential HVAC as we do, the level of heat in this region can be oppressive. I’m thrilled to own a beautiful home with excellent heat and air provided by a fantastic heat pump. But I also feel a little out of place in my own house because I prefer more cooling than my family does when the heat is at its worst. However, there are two reasons why my wife is a thermostat hawk. She has a higher heat tolerance because she is thin. She detests spending excessive amounts of money on heat pumps’ cooling comfort. I’m only just not a big guy who loves all the air conditioning he can get. That’s going to happen this summer, and not just because I moved somewhere else. However, I do have a personal space inside the house where I can turn on the air conditioning if I want to. I installed a ductless heat pump in the garage. I’m not breaking the house rules for reducing air conditioning costs because this HVAC technology is so effective. I do believe I’ll be enjoying life this summer because it’s the garage and I’m the only one there.
