I went to a convention for work, and will admit that I got a little crazy. I have been in the business for over eight years now, but this was the first time I had gone to the national convention and trade show. I went with the very best of intentions, but I had no idea how much fun that city could be. Not to mention that everyone else there was intent on partying, I just got swept up in the action! I doubt my bosses will allow me to ever attend a trade show or industry convention again for as long as I work here. Before the convention I didn’t know HVAC techs could party that hard! Like most conventions, the days were filled with meetings, presentations, and discussions about the newest innovations in HVAC technology and equipment. I saw a really interesting lecture on a new brand of dehumidifier that worked 80% more efficiently than any other existing model. It was after the HVAC convention closed down for the night when the parties started happening. It seemed like every HVAC tech there was hosting a small party in their hotel room. I went from room to room having drinks and meeting people and having a generally amazing time. The next day it was time for more heating and cooling demonstrations, but I was too hungover to attend.
