I got in trouble at the HVAC convention

I am really in trouble with the bosses.

I’m worried that I might even lose my job over it. Apologising won’t do me any good, because I’ve already done it several times. If I had a time machine I would go back and make other choices, but as it stands I may be screwed – but I have no one but myself to blame. I was sent to the pacific northwest for the biggest trade show and industry convention of the year. Since I was the only one going from our HVAC company, I needed to take a lot of notes and build some bridges with other regional companies. Instead of focusing on heating and cooling systems, I got distracted by the widespread presence of legal marijuana in that city. I was late to a couple of the new product showcases, which means I didn’t get the A/C information my bosses wanted. Even worse, there was a roll-out for a brand new kind of solar powered space heater, and I fell asleep in the middle of it! This was rude and disrespectful, but it also made my bosses at the HVAC company look bad. If I’m lucky they will keep me on staff, perhaps transferring me to the HVAC sales department, where I can’t do much harm. The worst part about this situation is that I had an amazing time at the HVAC convention, and now they will never let me go back. Maybe it wasn’t the heating and cooling convention that was the fun part, maybe it was just all the weed.
