The cost of temperature control accounts for approximately fifty percent of the apartment energy consumption. I continually look for current possibilities to trim costs. I hope to tighten up the home plus prevent the heated plus cooled air from leaking out. This reduces the workload of the heating system plus air conditioning unit, lessens our carbon footprint plus contributes to greater reliability, longevity plus value from equipment. I have updated all of the windows plus exterior doors in our home with Energy Star rated products. Every fall, I check for any gaps plus add necessary caulk plus weatherstripping. I’ve installed ceiling fans to help create a cooling effect in Summer plus better distribute heat in the winter. Attic insulation helps to keep a more comfortable home plus lessen energy losses. I properly update air filters plus schedule professional tune ups for the air conditioning unit in the Spring plus for the heating system in the fall, and just recently, I updated to a smart control unit that automatically caters to my family’s schedule plus helps to minimize energy use.
