Air filter change and HVAC duct washing

Springtime has sprung as my Mom was typically fond of saying! But indeed, I see so much current growth and that awesome shade of red that comes with the baby leaves on the trees, it’s the first week of March and my buddy and I are fully into the rebirth of another Springtime.

I even heard a heat pump kick on a couple of afternoons in a row this week… My neighbor goes right for the temperature control switchover to cooling the second the hot and cold temperatures split 71 for the first time, and we tend to hold off on hitting the air conditioner right out of the gate.

But before long, we’ll be closing up the windows, sealing the home narrow and leave the air conditioner on. I like to get a bit more accustomed to the rising hot and cold temperatures but I also get a bit knocked off my feet by pollen; Usually, my buddy and I start off with all sorts of tree pollen which doesn’t bother me nearly as much as the lawn pollens; And in our region, I get smacked hard with that about the first couple of weeks in March, but that’s when it’s time to do a couple of HVAC chores prior to leaving the air conditioner on, but first, I call for an air conditioner tune up in order to ensure that the heat pump is ready for all the cooling demand that is coming. That’s also when the HVAC servicemans do the HVAC duct cleaning. This makes a sizable difference with my allergies as does switching to a HEPA filter. The sort of air filter removes nearly all of the allergens in the air, then since Springtime has indeed sprung, I best call the HVAC supplier to set up appointments.
