I don’t know why but I sure feel it.
I’m always dealing with a bit of sticker shock when it comes to the price of a HVAC heating. The news has been touting that there will be even more significant rise in heating prices perhaps this winter. Like most of us who live in a region where the gas furnace is running day and night, this garnered my attention. For this fall, I really went about examining the entire picture when it comes to saving on HVAC heating costs. Most winters, I’ve just had to grin and bear it when it came to dealing with the price of running a gas furnace throughout our sort of winter. My wife likes it really warm in the house so it always is a bit of an expensive venture for me. But given the fact that we are still trying to dig out of the financial hole left by the end pandemic, I simply had to have a real strategy when it came to containing the heating costs. It all started by making sure that the HVAC equipment got the maintenance it needed so it’s running at its most efficient. But the HVAC equipment is really only part of the equation when it comes to saving on heating. I then proceeded to do the sort of preparation on our house in order to keep a really good seal on our home this winter. That will keep the cold air out and warm air in by reducing gaps and drafts. It didn’t take that much work and I think the results will be significant when it comes to HVAC savings.
