Weather takes a turn; treehouse is freezing

My husband and I like to go on fun adventures together.

We are always looking for novel new experiences to enjoy as a couple.

This is why we are known to be rather adventurous amongst our friends and family. They think that we are always up to something and they aren’t exactly wrong. In fact, we do our best to always be en route to a new destination. Earlier this year we came across the option of treehouse rentals and decided that sounded like a lot of fun. Unfortunately, the tree houses were booked throughout the entire summer. We found the warmest day available and made a reservation. Little could we know, the outdoor air temperature would not cooperate with our desire for an open-air treehouse experience. When we arrived at the rental house last week it was warm and humid outside. Unfortunately, as dusk settled the air temperature drastically decreased. Suddenly, it became cold and dreary outside. Obviously, the treehouse didn’t have any source of heat because that would be a safety hazard. We had no furnace, fireplace, or even space heater at our disposal. We spent the night shivering in a pile of blankets and wishing that we had central heating on our side. We were actually glad to return home and use our plain old thermostat for reliable indoor comfort from our forced air furnace. I never thought I would be so excited about using our plain old heating system. Next time, maybe we will pass on novelty to have functional heating and cooling equipment.
