Fishing trip and the cabin heater

My Husband recently went on a fishing trip and had such a good time.

He and his brothers travelled up into the mountains for their “guys weekend”.

This was supposed to be a relaxing and fun time for all of them. However, they are used to the comforts of home as well. They were fine with staying in a cabin, as long as it had air conditioning. When they arrived at their destination it was a beautiful area. The cabin was located just feet from the lake and it was cooler there than at home. Once unpacked they headed to the lake. They were all very excited about fishing and sharing a few good laughs. Hours later as it was getting late, they built a small fire and continued spending quality time. My husband was the first to head inside for the night. The temperature outside was still around 75 degrees. Perfect for spending time outside but not for a good night’s sleep. He checked the thermostat and it was set to 65 degrees. It just seemed too warm in the cabin so he investigated and found that the HVAC system was not turned on. He turned in on and heard a horrible bang. Unplugged it and found that it was not operational at all. It was too late to call anyone from the rental property at that point so they all knew that they were in for an uncomfortable night of sleeping. Early the next day an HVAC technician was sent out to repair the system. Once it was up and running the trip went great. It is so important to check your heat and air when on vacation before it is a problem late at night. This makes it easier on everyone involved. Lesson Learned for next time.
