I have terrible anxiety.
- I have had it for as long as I can remember and it has been hard for me to handle at times.
I used to live by myself, but I think that really made it worse. My therapist suggested that I find a roommate that I get along with well and see if that helps with my anxiety. So, my good friend Beth was looking for a roommate and it was the perfect timing for me to move in. I have lived with Beth for about five months now and I think my anxiety has really got better over these five months. Beth and I have gotten really close and I think she helps calm me down if I am getting too worked up. Last week, Beth noticed that our air conditioner had stopped working so she made an appointment with a local HVAC company to come over and inspect our air conditioner. She would be at work during the time of the appointment so she asked if I would be able to let the HVAC worker inside our apartment. I thought it would be fine, but when the HVAC worker knocked on the door I had a full on panic attack. I could hear the HVAC worker knocking on the door and saying my name, but I could not make myself get out of bed. I just sat there while they knocked and eventually the HVAC worker left. I know Beth is going to be upset, but I didn’t know what else to do!
