For example, mold and mildew thrive in homes that have high humidity and hence high moisture levels. This is why you need to find a way to reduce humidity levels. One of the best solutions that was so handy last summer was installing a dehumidifier. The central HVAC does take care of the humidity to some extent, but it helped so much to have the dehumidifier in place. The house has been blissful ever since we installed the dehumidifier and there has been no sign of mold or mildew.
