Fundraising for the local homeless shelter and how the local cooling company came through for our social project

Two years ago, I joined my current friends in university for a volunteer position at the local homeless shelter! My pal and I handled fundraising for clothing and food, which had challenges, however my buddy and I managed to meet our goals; Last year, my buddy and I had targeted getting the shelter a current Heating & Air Conditioning replacement because their cooling and heating unit was already troubling them, and paying for maintenance was unsustainable… They had already spent part of summer time without cooling equipment, and my buddy and I were determined to find them a cooling technology that would warm the entire space for temperature control and help with indoor comfort.

The older adults were already struggling with the temperatures, and since my buddy and I had a stable supply of food, water, and clothing, Heating & Air Conditioning was the next big project, then our plan involved finding a reliable cooling worker to assess the household and propose the most suitable equipment to purchase.

That was straight-forward because the local service provider offers free apartment services for consultations! Because the shelter has rooms that are only sometimes in use, my buddy and I wanted something straight-forward to manage without excessive energy bills; Relying on gas was not an option because it was already too high-priced, so the cooling specialist recommended an electric heat pump, and according to the price given by the local Heating & Air Conditioning business, the budget for it was higher than my buddy and I anticipated, and we’d need to add to the cost of hiring a quality AC service provider to install it. My pal and I wrote to the cooling company asking them to help us earn the equipment within their social outreach program, which saved us equipment costs. They approved, and all my buddy and I had to pay for was the replacement costs incurred by the Heating & Air Conditioning company.
