My sister was consistently complaining about the rise in the energy costs when summer time arrived. I didn’t want to have high energy costs. Our energy costs went down when my friend and I shut off the boiler and started using our window air conditioner units, however my hubby didn’t believe me. I told him I would download four years of energy costs and she could compare them. There was a definite change in how much less our energy costs in the summer time than in the winter. She told me her father regularly complained about the price of energy when summer time arrived. I asked if they had central air conditioner in their home. She said all the people had central air conditioner. Everyone however us, that was. I grew up with window air conditioner units and they worked well. I would visit friends, and there were regularly areas in their homes that were more humid than others. The only time you noticed a change in our house, was at night. Dad would shut off all the air conditioner units, however the ones in our family rooms. She said my friend and I didn’t need to cool the entire house when my friend and I were sleeping. We shut our doors to keep the cool air in our family rooms, and my friend and I were thrilled. She told me my friend and I lived like my friend and I were in the Dark Ages and that’s when I reminded him she married me. I may have lived like it was the Dark Ages, although I was comfortable and my friend and I weren’t broke because of central air conditioner.
