Most of the people in our congregation were elderly, as well as our minister consistently trying to do what was best for the mass.
- Last July was hotter than normal, as well as the air conditioner wasn’t working unquestionably well in the church.
If it was ninety outside, it was at least ninety-five inside, as well as something needed to be done. Although the deacons kept saying they could not afford it, the minister kept saying my associate and I needed to get the air conditioner unit fixed or repaired. The deacons were actually told to find the money, or she would need to go to a higher power. When dad said she was going to the higher power, she didn’t mean she was going to do more praying. She would go to the health association as well as tell them the deacons were denying air conditioners to the elderly. I didn’t suppose dad was extreme because I didn’t suppose she could go to the health association, even though she would complain to someone. When 1 of the older parishioners passed out, dad went ballistic. Even before the sermon began, she walked up to the pulpit. She actually greeted everyone, thanked them for coming, then addressed the congregation as well as the deacons. She said because of the state of the air conditioner, she was going to let everyone go home. She didn’t want anyone getting sick because the deacons didn’t deem the air conditioner worthy of the church’s money. One of the deacons reached out to multiple HVAC companies as well as asked if they could give us a discount on an air conditioner unit. Luckily, 1 of their HVAC professionals had a family member who went to our church.
