It was a hot summer day and my air conditioning unit had stopped working.
I decided to call an HVAC repairman to come and take a look at it.
The HVAC repairman arrived promptly and began to inspect my air conditioning unit. After a few minutes, he turned to me and said that my HVAC unit was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. I was taken aback by his sudden assertion and asked him to explain further. He then went on to tell me that he had a brand new, state-of-the-art HVAC system that he could install for me at a discounted price. He showed me a brochure with pictures of the system and told me how much money I would save on my energy bills. I was skeptical, but the repairman was insistent. He kept trying to sell me the new system, telling me how much better my life would be with it. He even went as far as to say that my current unit was cursed and that it was causing bad luck in my life. I began to feel uncomfortable with the HVAC repairman’s strange behavior and asked him to leave. As he left, he handed me a business card and told me to call him if I changed my mind about the new system. After the HVAC tech left, I couldn’t shake off the eerie feeling that I had just experienced. I decided to call another repairman to take a look at my unit, and he told me that it was a simple fix and that my unit didn’t need to be replaced at all. I never called the strange HVAC repairman back and made sure to warn my friends and family about him as well.
