My husband had called the HVAC company to have them inspect the ductwork.
It was getting weak in some spots and we wanted to know if we needed to purchase new ductwork,or get a new HVAC system.
We had already talked about installing ductless mini split HVAC systems in the house instead of central HVAC. When the HVAC technician arrived to inspect the ductwork, my husband told him to let him know when he was ready to go into the attic. There were some places where the ductwork was hard to get to. The HVAC technician nodded and headed into the basement. Half an hour later, he was back upstairs talking to my husband. I was sure my husband was going to go into the attic with the HVAC technician, so he could point out the problem area. Instead, he must have talked to him, because the HVAC technician was going up the stairs on his own. All I could think about was whether my husband had told him about the problem areas in the attic. When I heard the HVAC technician yelp, I knew he had found it on his own. When they put the new roof on the house, some nails came through the roof and there were jagged edges hanging around the ductwork. He came downstairs, and his eye was black and blue. He hadn’t found the nails, but he found the lower beams. He bumped his head on the low beam and then he bounced over to bump his eye. He still told us we needed new ductwork.
