The lights were turning on and off quickly

Our siblings came to visit during the holidays and we got together at our house.

  • We had a farm house filled with people for the holidays.

Both of us could not get anything done as far as chores are concerned. When our siblings finally left, we had about multiple loads of laundry to wash, dry, and fold. Both of us had to go to the grocery store to stock up on eggs, bread, milk, and fabric softener. After our siblings left, we noticed a concern with the lighting in the basement. They were staying in the basement but they did not know any troubles while they were here. The basement lights were flickering so much and we didn’t know why. Occasionally, the lights were fine and other times they were turning on and off very quickly. We decided to contact a licensed residential electrician to check the wiring. We were afraid that we had a short anywhere. Both of us didn’t want a fire in the farm house because we did not phone someone when there was a warning. The electrician charged us an adequate fee for the work. He checked each one of the outlets in the basement and the breaker box. The guy found five small wires that were loose and chewed. There was a field mouse in there at some point. The electrician told us we had a problem that required an exterminator. We felt fine about the service that we gained from the licensed electrician and we kept his card just in case we have future concerns in the farm house.
