Enjoying everything about the south and even the heat pump

I don’t know just how my wife managed it.

We met in college and fell in love.

Once we graduated, we both found jobs in a city not too far from where we went to school. But that really hadn’t been the plan for her. After years of living in a dorm room with radiant heating, my wife was really ready to go back to her roots in the south. She much preferred air conditioning over dealing with that radiant heating in her dorm room. But once we both got jobs in the city, our lives just sort of went from there. Before long, we were talking about getting married. And then, we wanted to move to the suburbs, buy a house and start a family. So the idea that my wife was going to be done with hard winters and welcome a heat pump back into her life didn’t materialize. So she has spent nearly 30 winters dealing with a gas furnace and all the snow and ice that comes with this region. I really didn’t know any better until we recently moved to the south. My wife was able to take a new position in the commercial HVAC of the regional office down south. I, on the other hand, took advantage of a retirement buyout and I’m working for myself as a consultant. But I have to say, I wish we had moved down here a long time ago. It’s Christmas and the heat pump is silent as we need no demand for heating. Additionally, I’m outside enjoying golf, tennis and biking all winter thanks to the fantastic climate where we live.
