Our air conditioner was freezing the house and I couldn’t stand it anymore.
My wife always likes to have the house a little bit cold and she always has the smart thermostat set at about 60 degrees.
I, on the other hand, cannot stand when the house is that cold, 60 degrees is an unreasonably cold temperature to have all year round. Last night, I got home from work and was looking forward to coming out of the snowy weather and walking into a nice warm house and feeling the warm air from the furnace, but when I entered the house, I had almost no comfort of warmth because my wife had the air conditioning set so low. I stomped to the smart thermostat and turned on the heat and set the temperature to 68 degrees. When my wife came to greet me, she saw the thermostat and was instantly horrified. “Why did you change the temperature on the smart thermostat?!” She was so upset that I had changed the temperature and I didn’t understand why. She was all bundled up in a hoodie, leggings, fuzzy socks, and a hat in the house! I told her it was way too cold outside to only have the house at 60 degrees. She rolled her eyes and walked back to the living room. Later that evening, I was once again freezing in my own house, and it turns out that my wife had turned the air conditioner on. I went to the smart thermostat and turned off the air conditioner again and turned on the heat. We had a couple of discussions about this and then decided to get zone controlled heating cooling so that some rooms would be the temperature that she wanted and some would be the temperature I wanted.
